Ing. Jan Vojtek studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 1994 he completed his postgraduate studies of Public Administration Management at the Masaryk Institute, Czech Technical University. In 1994 he took a one month course in Venture Capital – Seed for Economic Growth (Financial and Eng. Training Institute, Washington, D.C., USA). In 1999 he did an internship in regional and spatial planning in The Hague. From 1993 to 1999 he worked as Head of Department of Economic Development at the Ústí nad Labem City Council. In 1999 he started working as an external consultant in the field of strategic planning of regional and local development and preparation of the Czech Republic for funding from Structural Funds. 2003 – 2004 he worked also as a regional coordinator of Finalising of Structures and Measures to Increase the Absorption Capacity at the National and Regional Levels for the consortium led by ECORYS Nederland BV. Since 2004 he has been a partner in SPF Group, where he is in charge of the field of strategic planning and evaluation of programmes financed by structural EU funds. As a consultant he was the team leader of the Regional Operational Programme North-West. He has cooperated in strategic planning of several Czech cities and regions. Since 2016 he has been a partner in SPF Competence plus Company, focusing on strengthening the company´s role within international projects.
